i'd like to get juno a playmate. frankly, id like to have a whole pack of gliders rocketing around my room, but for now, im just thinking of getting one other <gryn>. i didn't see anything on the sites about introducing a second glider to the first glider, so i was hoping the voices of experience could help me =).
what are the advantages/disadvantages of getting a male or female glider? what about bonding and playing, with respect to the first glider? i dont want to create a situation where gliders are competing for attention, or where i would have to favor one over the other, i couldnt deal with that. how should i go about this?

thanks,
sean

K, I think there is a page on Bourbons site about it (?) and at <a href=http://www.pawprintonline.com/frames.html>http://www.pawprintonline.com/frames.html</a>
you just have to click on Critter Centeral at the top of the page. Another page will come up. There will be a Heading: Sugar Glider. There's an article called Lonley Glider that should help tons!

Hi. Getting a second glider is a GREAT idea. However, there are some things to look out for. The pros: your glider will have a friend to break things with when you're not around smile and your glider will also have a cozy sleeping buddy. I would suggest getting a second glider but hopefully it can be one of rounghly the same age (this just has to do with size so don't put a baby with an adult). Usually a young glider will try to ride on an adult's back. If your glider doesn't want it there, it could be reqally nasty. If they don't get along at first and find that they scrapping a little too much (nips and noises are to be expected but there should be no bloodshed), try getting another cage for the second glider and putting the cages side by side. This will get them used to being around eachother without the scrapping. Then try switching their beds so they have to sleep with eachother's scent. This is a great way to get them familiar with eachother. As for whether you shoud get a boy or a girl, if you already have a boy, it's probably best not to get another boy. Sometimes they can be mean to eachother. If one is neutered and one is not or if both are neutered, sometimes it works but best not to go with 2 males. 2 females are good together and (if you don't mind having babies) you could have a boy and a girl. Those are all the hint I can think of. I wish you luck! Hvae fun! -Sarah
