I just relocated and need to build a new cage. I plan to build it about 3'x3'x6' but I do not want to make an all wire cage. If anyone has any plans for a wood and wire cage or know any links please let me know.

That's the size we just finished building. don't know if I have all of the specs completely correct, but I started out with 5 rolls of vinyl coated hardware cloth.
Supplies needed:
The rolls were 5'x3'. I stapled the edges of the rolls onto two 5 foot 3/4"x3/4" pieces of wood.

Supplies needed: 5- 3ft x 5ft rolls of vinyl-coated hardware cloth (1x1/2in. openings)
4 - 5ft long 3/4 x 3/4 in pieces of hardwood;
8 - 35 in long x 2-3in slats of wood
Two 2x4 cut the length of the top of the cage (35 ")
staple gun/ staples/ nippers/ hammer and 11/2" nails or thin screws.
I unrolled the hardware cloth and stapled the 5 ft long wood to the outer edges.
Then I stapled the top and bottom of the hardware cloth to the 35" cross-posts (wedging them in between the 5 foot long timbers).
I then nailed the 35" cross timbers to the tops and bottoms of the 5 ft long timbers.
I stabilized the cage by placing the 2x4s in a cross fashion at the top of the cage (nailed them in between the 35 " cross timbers)
The doors are purely subjective as is the interior shelving.
I did use cage clips and pliers to fasten the doors to the cage.
It's not a very detailed description, but it was our first try and it works well for our two sugar gliders (as well as for our kids who like to get into the cage to play with Serena and Venus)

What guage was the hardware cloth? I suspect your's is 19 guage, especially if it was rolled.

can u send me a pic of ur home-made cage for ur sugar gliders? becuase i was at the hardware store today and i am thinking about makeing my own home made cage. I just want to know what they look like and what they turned out to look like. if u can send me a pic of the finished cage in my e-mail adress (alex4286@aol.com) and if u can do this it would help me alot on what mine needs to look like thanx!!!

I am 13 years old and I am seriosly thinking about getting a glider. I have been researching them for a long time, but in all the sites have gone to I have not found out what size cage to get! does anyone have a suggestion?

Cupcake, I'd say 2x2x4 or 2x2x3.5 is the smallest I would go. You should buy BIGGER than you think you need if at all possible.
