OK, I understand there were some issues with the moderators, but I want to go on record to say that I want them back! I'm tired of the troll posts, some really nasty arguments, etc., and we've got to have someone really keeping an eye on that kind of stuff.
So, does anyone else agree with me on this?

I whole-heartedly agree! Enough of the "crap" on here already. This was a great friendly place for info when I first started coming here, but now I have to dig for info. Please get rid of the troll posts and the people posting just with the "this is a forum..."

I agree. We all worked so hard to make this page great! We would always discuss questionable posts before deleting them, and it always had to be a joint decision. I was sent an e-mail saying that all moderators were being removed. I will say that I NEVER banned ANYONE! (as tempting as it was sometimes... hehehe)
One other thing the old mods did, is to try to salvage good info from threads that turned into fights/heated debates. It's sad some of it has been lost. There have always been differences in opinions... there always will be. That's what makes us all so unique. But, when it does get out of hand, I believe you need a team of people to chip in and do a little house cleaning!

First of all, this is not the place to complain about this message board. My email is at the top of each and every page, and I will be more than happy to discuss these issues with you.
But since you have brought them up, I will reply here so everyone will know why I am the only moderator. I'm not pointing fingers, but I do know that someone took advantage of my trust and decided to use his or her moderation abilites to ban people that had done nothing out of line. There were other instances of moderation abuse that I'm not going to discuss here because that's not what this message is for. And because of this abuse, I am not going to blindly trust people that I don't know with moderating this message board.
And as for future moderation of this message board, my trust will have to be earned before I let anyone have that privelage.
That does not mean that this board is not moderated, I ask that you, the readers and participants of this website to moderate yourselves. My email is at the top (and bottom) of each and every page; when someone is out of line, you have the ability to report it.
Robin, Dawn, Ms. Shell, O Mysterious one, since you are the ones that have brought this to my attention about wanting more moderators on this message board, then don't fail to report people abusing this message board.
Any more complaints should be addressed to me via email.

Thank you Eric, I'm so glad to see that you are observing what is going on on the board. We should all work together to do whats best for the gliders and glider owners instead of having a few people who can do whatever they want.

Despite having been accidentally banned from this board myself recently (before the mods were taken off), I still see the very high value in having more involved moderators -- people who read each and every post and weed the garbage and personal attacks out. I don't think one person can handle that; there's just too much. Personally, even with my temporary banning, I never saw serious abuse of the "power" of the last group of moderators.
I do understand that you need to develop trust in a few people in order to do this, but I just want to respectfully ask you to keep it in mind, Eric. I will make you aware of the aggrevating and inappropriate posts, but the need for us to do so points out the need for mods, don't you think?

well Ms. Shell, at least you did get that email about the mods being removed..I never did get it and had to ask B what the deal was... LOL!!!
and Eric, you have taken on a tremendous take moderating this board..and I commend you for that. I can understand where you are coming from on this trust issue and would love to discuss it with you more via email, since I think i must have gotten lost in the shuffle of things during my "leave of absence"...

V, it was the fact we had a few people that was deleted.. although first thought it was a personal issue, as we all know it wasn't. For if it were personal, others too would have been banned. We still don't know how or why they were banned. Dawn yes was one of them. and she knows all the mods and knows we would not have done it. However someone did. So Eric did remove us, till he could find a way to implament something. During that coarse of absence he also found out we did have a breach. Through that everything still hangs.. Nice try Angie, this had nothing to do with you... This was strictly a moderators trust issue. I stand behind Eric, as I have already spoken with him regarding this issue. As I too have to trust those that I work with. Anything he decides regarding this, I will understand. He knows where we are if needed.. I too have to say that it is a huge undertaking he is taking on. He now has been around long enough to know he MUST read each and every thread each day to keep up with this. I hope he does, as it is important to keep things running smoothly.
