Jess: I had a very, very tough joey that I recently sold. She attacked my cat's nose and my dog's nose, of course I was holding her and the cat and the gliders were never alone together, all in all it is a good idea to keep your gliders away from cats! Cats are natural predators and an SG looks like your every day mouse to a cat. So whereas some cats will interact and play with a glider like my cat Jinx does, its a good idea to just keep them as far away from each other as possible.

i have two cats and almost seven gliders, I have had not one problem with having both pets, You would not want to let your cat PLAY with your gliders for obvious reasons, a glider is just a more interesting mouse in the eyes of a cat, I think if you own both types of pets and you are a RESPONSABLE pet owner then you would be fine, I have a very large sturdy cage for my gliders and they are kept in their own room that the cats do not go in, although this has not always been the case, the gliders where once in a room with out a door and the cats would lounge on the top of the cage because they too like to be up high, but I have not had a problem.Like I said be very responsable,

First and formost: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER LEAVE YOUR GLIDERS OUT ALONE - ESPECIALLY NOT WITH A CAT. By the same token I know of many families that have both. Gliders are never out alone and certainly not with the cats. (These cats are strictly indoor cats, not hunters.) In several cases, the cats ignore the gliders and run from them. In one case the glider liked to jump on the cat's back and ride it. It is my humble opinion that the cats did not chase the glider because of their loud crabbing and lack of fear. The fact that the gliders would not run and were so loud is what kept them safe. However, do not expect this with an outdoor cat that is used to hunting.....I hope that helps. Email me if I can be of further assistance.
