Don't do it...Robin says that you may harm them because they are so small and delicate. Please out of respect for your gliders, they are not ferrets!!

Leashes are not, NOT, not for sugar gliders. Please heed this advice if you love your gliders.

I am sure that some people have had success using a leash with a glider, but unfortunately none of them have posted here. First, it is almost impossible to get a glider into a leash without stressing him/her. Second, the way the leash fits it is possible to injure their gliding membranes or worse having a glider try to glide and get caught in a branch causing him/her to strangle to death. With all of this, I just don't think it is necessary to take the glider out on a leash. Let him/her just glide around the house. If you are wanting other people to see your glider, the just invite them to you house where the glider is in a familiar place. Hope this is helpful.

I was new to the gliders and tried to put a leash on the adult male. He didnt like it and run so fast almost srangled himself. Also a bonded glider should stay close to you anyway, like in a pocket or get a bonding pouch! J

When my Arrow was alive, he was so bonded to me that he didn't leave my body or shirt if he was under it (was my first glider) and even when I went to a pet store he wouldn't leave me. So first try getting them to bond with you very well before taking them out anywhere and then you'll see that they don't know the smells of anything else other than you and they end up staying on you. Good luck!

If your glider doesn't trust you enough to stay on you at all costs. DON'T take it out of the house. Leashes are the worst thing you can do to an already trusting glider, if your glider doesn't trust you. work on that first. BTW, hey Jane great to see you back in circ...I was missing one of my MPD's... lol
