I have 2 females who are the best of friends and I was thinking about getting a baby male for possible future breeding. I have many questions about this though.
Does having 3 gliders (and a male at that!) interfere with the harmony my gliders now seem to share? Can they all be kept together??
Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!

I've heard that a threesome doesn't usually work out well. If both females get pregnant by the male and have babies at the same time, then they become aggressive toward one another and can go over and kill one anothers babies. So I really don't suggest it. Unless I guess, if the male is neutered and there are never babies involved and then you should follow Bourbon's advice on her info page (check links on top of the page) on introducing a new one. But really, if the two get along splendidly, I wouldn't bring in another unless you want a big happy family and then again, there would be no guarrantee that it would work out.

If your two gliders are getting along so well, why do you want another. Thus could upset the balance. (Not all gliders get along: Even amongst gliders some males and females do not like each other or get along.)

I cannot tell you what would happen because I do not keep trios. (I did just move twin girls in with their older sister and mate and they did just fine - no fighting....This is just very temporary until I find a place to put their cage...I am running out of space, but these girls, Josie Joy and Jennifer Joy are sweeties.)
