I would think they would make perfect apartment pets, especially if kept along an outside wall. They bark at night, which could be bothersome to the neighbors. Other than that, they don't need to be let outside, aren't terribly destructive to property, and are caged most of the time, so should be great apartment pets.

About how loud is the bark of a SG? Is it where you cannot stand it or is it nothing at all.I also heard to keep a light on by it does that help the barking?

It sounds much like the yap of a toy poodle or some other small dog, it isnt a piercing bark, just a small "yap yap yap!!" My neighbors in my old apartment never complained so i guess it wasnt that loud, but my joeys bark louder than my older gliders and they wake me up, but that could also be because their cage is next to my bed. usually if i give them more food, or turn the light on or show them some kind of attention, they will be quiet.
