Hello there. Ok, I have a problem. I just recently (last week) got a glider to replace my other one. PEtrie was my first glider and she was not a happy one, so she had to be sent back to her breeder. I am glad to report she is doing a little better now. Anyways, my breeder Terry, who is exetremely nice and supportive said I could get another one. I went up there before I went away for 3 weeks and picked out a sweet, tame glider. She just slept in my hand. Then, when I went to pick her up last Thursday, she was not the same at all. She reminded me of Petrie. She jumped around and would not stay calm. Needless to say, I brought her home and she hasn't improved. She bites all the time and is very scared of me. Now, just to let you all know, it's not me, because my boyfriend Mike has a glider that stays at my house that is a boy named Lulu and Lulu likes me just fine. So, I'm wondering what to do. I"ve tried so many things and am looking for new suggestions. Terry has offered to give me another one, a male this time, but I like ROxy, shes such a cutie and I dont want to give up yet. Please help in any way you can. Thank you!

Meg, Your baby is very scared of you and also of the different scents she is smelling on you. This not mean she is not a tame baby. Try not to handle Lulu for a few weeks until you are able to Roxy to be willing to stay on you without being frightened. Carry her around with you during the day in an old shirt pocket and then put the shirt into the cage so she can sleep on it. When you take her out of the cage put the old shirt back on. Keep this up until Roxy is comfortable with you. Also offer licky treats such a baby food applesauce and let her lick it off of your fingers. Is she by chance in with the other glider's cage? This could be part of the problem too. She has to get use to the new cagemate and you too. Go slow with her. She is a baby and she will come around. The more time you spend with her the better pet she will become.
