What did you feed? You did leave the male in there right? Any major stresses on the mom?

Yes the daddy was still there, no stress on mommy, when she was pregnant I moved there cage to a
quieter room in the house. i feed mommy and daddy leadbetters, and hadn't fed the babies anything yet,
they were only out like a day or two. I tried to get them to lick some babyfood off my finger the first
day, but their mommy said no.

Could you tell by looking at them whether or not there were any signs that perhaps mom or dad had
killed them or did they look like they just died for some unknown reason. If you still have them, check
for any bite marks or anything else that might look suspicious.
Let us know. I have lost 1 joey, but not both before.

I would have your vet do a necropsy and see if he can't find out the reason. Please let us know. It is
very important that we learn from these deaths to prevent it from happening again.

Cheyanne,

I got very choked up when I read your message - it made me tear up. What ever happened, it is not
your fault, please don't blame yourself ( I know that's hard right now). I lost my first glider (Milo), he
drown in the bathtub when I didn't know that my boyfriend had not unplugged it. I really blamed myself
for a long time, and the people on this board helped me through it. This is a devistating loss, and your
tears will continue to flow. Gizmo and I will keep you and your little babies in our prayers. Do get your
little guy neutered as quickly as possible!

Keep your chin up and love the parents of your little babies - they too are sad and need your love just
as much as you need theirs.

Cheyenne, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your little ones. It is important that your female at least raise one set of healthy babies. If your diet was Bourbons Modified Leadbeaters and was followed to the T then it is quite possible it is another problem that you cannot see.

Take your female to the vet and have a culture done on her pouch. It is quite possible that a yeast infection is responsible for the loss. This particular yeast will cause Bovine Mastitis which will posion the babies. I recently went through this and it is treatable but it takes several weeks to get the results from the lab. Once it is discovered it is treatable with an antibotic.

I wish you much happiness with the next set of healthy babies.
