I just bought my sugr glider a brand new cage. When I put him in it he was verry happy. Then I went to work and I got back and He was in there and he was playing with the new toy's I had just got him. I played with him for awhile and then I went to bed. When I woke up my sister wanted to see him, I went over to the cage HE WAS GONE! My sister and I had looked for him for hours and we could not find him, then I had seen that my window was sslightly cracked open. I ran to my parents and my dad had a sence of shock on his face and he said that it was im who left it open. Now heres my Problem, its 9:30 pm here right now, I have left his cage in my back yar hopeing that he will go to it. We have tall bushes going all around our house. so could he stell be in the back yard or is it a lost cause?

Trevor, I would have to say that the chances of his returning are not very promising. The new cage hasn't been properly marked by him yet, so it may be hard for him to find in your backyard. Also, he may find the lure of all the trees just too much and have wandered too far to find his way back. You didn't mention how long you have had him ... are the two of you bonded enough that you could try calling him by name? Also, you must consider the ugly truth that there are many dangers from other animals that he is not equipped to handle. I hate to sound so gloomy, and I really do hope you have success finding him. Please let us know the outcome.

There was someone who posted here many many months back...they had a new glider and thought they went out the wondow one night. It turns out it was hidding in a closet. gliders can run under many doors. Your glider may still be in the house somewhere..deffinitly leave out pouches and food in the hopes he will find it. I would be very worried about the window. What is the temperature like where you are? There are many dangers outside. Hopefully he is still in your house. Going outside and calling him is a good diea..he may be reallt scared..so he may come running if he hears your voice. Also there are glider noises online..you could tape them and take them outside to play..he may come running to glider voices. Listen very carefeully outside...you may hear him moving around or barking. Maybe take a flashlight and look around. I really do hope you can find him...just don't give up..he could still be in the house. Look under piles of clithing and blankets..they love to hide in clothes and sleep. Good luck to you!
