I put my cage in the shower (without the gliders ) and turn on the HOT water for about 5 minutes. Then I leave it in the tub until I get home in the afternoon, thus letting it air dry. I have noticed that this gets the smell and Linus doesn't remark it. I'm assuming there is just enough of his scent left to "fool" him. So you're asking what do I do with my gliders while their cage is being cleaned and dried ... well fortunately I have an extra cage that they can "sleep only" in during the day. How often do I clean their cage ... the bottom I clean about twice a week and the main cage in the shower about once a month. Hope this helps.

i use one part vinager to 4 or 5 parts water when i really want to get the cage Clean. i hose the cage with a high power nozle that fits on my hose, then spray in really good with the vinager. then scrub with a plastic scubby for my dishes (i do have a seperate one for the dishes), and rinse
