I have no advice for you except to find a vet in driving distance. WHere do you live? I hate to lecture you but this is why we urge people to locate a vet BEFORE anyone gets there gliders. THe baby needs special eye drops and possibly antibiotics or the infection will spread and it will die. There are no over the counter medicines that are safe for a glider. There are only a few antibiotics that vets have that are safe for gliders. Get your glider to a vet even if you have to drive over an hour or it will die.

agree a vet is imparative, be prepared to hand feed this joey, sounds like eitheer mom or dad got a little rough with it. here is a link on how to do this, if need be contact the person at the top of the page, her name is a link to her email, she would be glad to help you. http://www.angelfire.com/nb/sugarglider/realstories/Buddy/buddy.html there are other stories there as well about rejected and orphaned joeys http://www.angelfire.com/nb/sugarglider/realstories

I agree you need to find and get him to a vet ASAP. I'm sure that mom and dad will forgive you for borowing there baby for a vet trip.

Read Caroline Macpherson's book if you have to hand-raise it. Some good info there.

Also, don't try to medicate the problem yourself -- only use human medications if a vet OK's it. Some medications that are safe for people are NOT safe for gliders.
