Hi, I was just wondering if it is alright to have playtime with your glider in the daytime. I play with skyler when it is day and when he is ready to go to bed, he will come to me and find a good place to sleep on me. Is that alright? I am not forcing him to stay up or anything and he seems to like to play in the day.
Thanx

Do you ever plan on pouch training? If you terach the glider that it is okay to come out and play durring the day then it can be nearlu impossible to pouch train. They will wake up and want to start playing no matter where you are. If you never ever want to take him out with you in a pouch or pocket then its ok to play with them durring the day..but if you wnat to take him places then its a very bad idea.

We occasionally play with our glider during the day; when it gets too light and she is ready to go to bed, she climbs down my shirt and goes to sleep. I can then carry her around all day with no problems. She only occasionally gets up to get a drink or go to the bathroom; she loves to get her sleep! It's more fun, however, to play with them at night if you are wanting them to be active.

Well I don't really plan to take him everywhere with me, but every once in a while, maybe on weekends I will take him to the store but thats it. Well I don't really know what you guys are talking about when you say "pouch training". Dont you just keep them in there and they'll fall asleep? Well write back!

Jess: what you are talking about is playing in the mornings before the glider has ever gone to sleep. Thats different then waking them up durring the day to play.

Skyler: Pouch training is more than just putting them in and them going to sleep. Unless they have been trained then you don't know if they will wake up and come out or not. Movement, sounds, and smells can wake them up...so you have to train them to sleep in the pouch. You don't want to go to the store or anywhere else and have your glider get out and start playing. Of you wake the glider up to play dirrung the day then you train them that its ok to come out and play durring the daytime. You can't take them anywhere ebcause you never know if they will come out or not.

Most gliders do not do well when confined like that. They will assoicaye you with being trapped. They need to be able to get out to go to the bathroom and to get air. Most gliders will get very uoset if they wake yp and can't get out. You will ehar some horrible crabbing. You don't want your glider to fear you.
