i got a ferret hammock yesterday for the winter. they look warm and big enough for three gliders. my little guys were in it this morning having abandoned their pouch. they love it hanging from the very top of the cage!! i had to show them how to get in it though at first cos it folds like an envelope!! they just sat on the top of it at first. they look so cute poking their itsy bitsy little noses out of it!!! i guess ferret things are alright if you have glider colonies, for one little guy it would look like jack and the bean stalk!!!!! ;)

Yes, the ferret hammocks are fine for gliders as long as you keep an eye on their nails. Once the nails begin to get long and pointy - they will tend to get stuck in the material lining the inside. This will put the gliders at risk for an injury.

Hi I had a hammock in Gizmo's cage when she was little. She loved it and also never slept in her pouch anymore. But I just wanted to write and give you a warning. Make sure when you hang it you put the sides higher than the middle. I guess Gizmo's was too flat and one day when she was sleeping she rolled out and fell straight to the floor. She had a rude awakening. But she was fine. Luckily it was in her temporary cage which was pretty small. I just thought I'd tell you so that you knew they could fall. But if you put the edges up you should be fine. The way you do that is make the clips closer together and then the middle sort of sinks in. They will still sleep in it that way. Hope this helps. Have fun. I love the hammock cuz you can watch them sleep. They are too cute Love, April

I also use a hammock. They choose it over two other pouches. I put a piece of fleece in it as a blanket and they just love to curl up under it. Looks like it would be really warm.

I have used the ferret hammocks from the very beginning. I hang one near the top of the cage and then hang another one directly over it, thus giving them a top and bottom. April022 is right about hanging the sides higher so they can snuggle down in the middle. I think it gives them alot more room for more than one glider. Mine also love, and I mean love, the large ferret cube with an entrance hole on all four sides. I happened to pick one up on sale. I really like these items because they can be washed easily. I keep more than one change so they are never without their favorite bed

I think there is slight confusion here, some people are talking about hammocks which gliders love to play in others are talking about the hanging sacks. Look here for an example or two <a href=http://www.ferretstore.com/cage-accessories-hanging-sacks.html>http://www.ferretstore.com/cage-accessories-hanging-sacks.html</a> . I like these for cages with more than two gliders, (presently I have one cage with five and another I am looking after which has four). One of my favourites is here <a href=http://www.ferretstore.com/tfs-520.html>http://www.ferretstore.com/tfs-520.html</a> . You do have to keep an eye on the nails but for a group of gliders it allows them to sleep together without squashing each other. You need two so you can wash onbe while teh other is being used. I personally love the ferret store site as they have great selection and free shipping (for over $10). Have fun exploring the site- it is designed for ferrets but I found things for my gliders and for my chinchillas. They also sell hanging food dishes.

I have a ferret pouch and a hammaock..they like to sleep in both. I hang my hammock on its side so that it make a big pouch. They love it. I think gliders like sleeping in both.

well i don't know how they can fall out. it's like a pita bread, they crawl in and it covers them so i can't see them sleep. i guess there are many different styles. looking at karen's web site i guess it's more of a snuggler? but any way i liked all your suggestions and interest!!! i'm going to add ferret things to their collection , they look like fun!
