Ok, so I went to the grocery store for US today and came back out with Sugar Snap Peas ... thanks to you Now, my question is - do they need to be cooked or can I just feed them raw. And yes, I know from reading your spoiled glider post that I must open the peas myself Certainly wouldn't want them wasting any excess energy they might need to wake me up in the middle of the night Thanks in advance ;)

Hey Karen! I feed them raw. Actually, you don't need to shuck them all the time. Here's how I handled it -- the first time, I left them whole, and they wouldn't touch them. Then I shucked them, plus left one intact with just one "seam" ripped open, so they saw there were peas inside the pod. Once they realize "hey -- there's tasty stuff inside these things!!!", there's no need to continue shucking -- they get the idea. In fact, giving them whole pea pods this way is actually a good mental stimulation for them. I just got mine used to it earlier this week, and now the pea pods are the first thing they run for. Have fun!

Thank you very much for the info. I will let them have them tonight. Didn't feed last night since I wasn't sure whether they should be raw/cooked. Gotta run - gotta go shuck peas
