are the tree limbs from petsmart that are made for birds safe for gliders? i got some that had a screw in one end to attach to the cage and my guys jumped on it and starting chewing, then i noticed they waved their hands really fast, i thought they had splinters, but i couldn't see anything. they liked it so much it scared me cos it doesn't tell you what kind of wood it is, it just says "mac's creation" natural wood perch from california, pet safe.

Hi Collette,
I have seen the limbs you are talking about at Petsmart, but like you said they don't tell you exactly what they are. They do say, pet safe, as you stated, so you would assume that is exactly what they mean. Look to see if there is a toll free number or try accessing the manufacturer on the internet.
Fortunately, we have an apple tree in our back yard so that is where I get my branches. I also go to the woods and cut dried vines.
Hope this helps.

Manzanita branches are good safe branches that you can buy from petsmart. They are so hard they are almost petrified. They screw on. They are kind of expensive since they are a hard wood though. Only one of my cages has those branches in it.
