I would LOVE to hear any suggestions of fun things for me to do with my gliders when they are awake at night, any fun activities or games? Mostly we just let them out of the cage to run around on us and in the living room and they LOVE THAT. But we want them to not be bored and to have an exciting life, so are there any suggestions for things we can do with them while they are up and playing? And how about when we put them back in their cage at night while we sleep? I get up in the middle of the night to see them just sitting there on a stick bored.. what can i give them to entertain them?

Thank you! They have a few toys, and even yesterday we put a toy ball and some baby toys in there, but they seem to be afraid of them. So i think i will take them out today. My female is acting strange all of a sudden, almost like she is pouting or sad. I think maybe the babys will be OOP soon??????

I think it was Betsy, or maybe not, that had a little ball of aluminum foil and taught her gliders to catch the ball. Correct me if Im wrong.

Oh wow !! Really? How cute that is ! How really amazing. For some reason my little girl is up today, she is usually sleeping by now.. do they start to act alot differant as the time comes for the joeys to come out?

You can use cotton balls but make sure they have no polyester in them and u play catch with them.I also heard on another board that you can take a shoe lace or a piece of string and put fruit loops or cerrios around it as a toy.

I wont hang rope in their cage, ive heard too many horror storys about their little claws being caught in the rope and them being seriously injured. Also in one case i heard of the male glider getting his private parts caught in the rope and NUTERING HISSELF ! So.... if in doubt... dont do it is my way of life with my presious babes.

Tina Marie, Cotton rope is completely safe for them to have hanging in the cage. That is what we were refering to, My gliders love it and swing and play and run up and down them all the time. Also, I use the little cate balls that heave bells in them and pom poms for them to play catch with.
Dr. Phan....that post was on this board and it was KarenE who posted it about a snack of fruit loops on a shoe string.

where would i find cotton ropes from to hang in their cage? sounds like lots of fun for them! Also the pom poms sound like a great idea!! We put a cat ball in their cage and it seems to scare them, will try a smaller ball maybe ! thanks for the great info

Guys - I hang 1 inch cotton ropes outside their cages.
Outside their cages these rope provide a playground in the sky! They run, jump & hang from these ropes & also have access to come & go into their cages.
I hang pouches, coconut houses, & toys along these ropes & they play for hours!
This is similar to what they would do in the wild.

I had the same question as Tina. I will try pretty much all the "toy" ideas but what about the games? Does anyone know of a game a glider can play with his/her human outside of the cage?

Well no one is answering my post about games i can play with my glider at night when they are outside the cage. They seem so bored and like they want to interact with me in ways, im just so unsure how to show them my love and have a good time with them. I am assuming since no one has answered me on this, that you also have the same questions.

Okay.....B would be proud here....YOu can play GLIDER TREE....you do this by putting your arms up in the air and when the glider runs up to the tip of your fingers, drop you arm back down and they will run back to your shoulder, they love being in the highest place possible, then you just raise your arm again. They will run up and down both arms for a very long time. They love it. Also if you have 2 people to play, you can play glider ball, one person lets the glider run to the end of his extended arm while the other person puts his hand up like he is doing the queen wave and wiggles their fingers, the glider will soon learn to jump flat onto your hand. This also make for alot of fun. And Feathers. We have peacock feathers and they will play chase all over the furniture and curtains shelves etc as long as youi are willing to drag the feather around. Hope this helps.
