Does everyone feed insects to their sugar glider. You know the crickets and mealworms. I know they are pretty fattening, but just wondered if most owners do. Thanks

My gliders get 3-5 giant gut-loaded crickets and 1-2 gut=loaded king mealworms each, every day! Insects are a very important part of a sugar gliders diet, I believe they are essential. Angie ;)

Yep, mine devour them too. It's not a very pleasant sight to see something so cute and delicate crunching on a bug, but like everyone has said, that's part of their diet. A very important part

Yep their tongues just hang out for them, except two of the girls just don't eat the mealworms. Just too dainty I suppose. Some will eat freeze dried, some frozen. Aside from small rodents in the wild the insects are considered their protein

My babys fight over the crickets. I have only been feeding them two each, it appears that i can feed them more than two each a night though! Wow, im glad i know this because they LOVE their crickets! They like the live ones more than the freeze dryed ones though! They always rip the head off of it right away and munch. haha. I thought feeding them live things would be hard, its not. The only thing that takes getting used to , is the sound of crickets chirping in the house all day and night. My question is, when a cricket dies on its own in the jar, can you still feed it to the gliders?
