Hi Beth Sneezing is a common noise made by sugar gliders. It is not real sneezing (unless your glider has a cold?). I hear it every day with my sugar gliders. Angie ;)

My gliders also make this noise, especially when they are not through with their play time with mom. They tend to add a little grunt sometimes just to make sure I hear them. If your, however, is really more of a sneeze, then I wouldn't worry about it unless it is just a continuos thing. Just keep an eye on him if you're not sure and watch for any changes in eating habits, activity level, etc.

oh...great, thanks a lot! I was about to rush him off to the vet lol he'll just sneeze right when he gets up and when i go to bed, do you think he's just notifying me that he's awake and wants attention?

usually with small mammels a "cold" can be seen by crustiness around the eyes and nose, not sure if it is the exact same for gliders, but it might be something to watch for.

Try responding to his "sneeze" by playing with him just 5 or 10 minutes more and see if he does it again. Then maybe another 5 minutes - if he repeats it again, then tell him it's time for humans to be in bed and gliders to be playing in his wodent wheel - you do have one, don't you Forgot to ask, does he do this in his sleep too or just when he's awake and you're around?

that he is just washing him self, they spit in their hands and wash their face and head. since he is doing it when he first wakes up and before you go to bed, but also, be sure he isn't constipated and is having a hard time using the bathroom, watch him, notice what he is doing when you hear it.

He's very healthy looking with no crusting around the eyes or any obvious problems, jumps around as usual! Yep, he's got his own lil wodent wheel, and he loves it I've never noticed him doing it in his sleep, or heard it, but I'm not certainly sure. He's using the bathroom fine, and when he starts making this noise I'll go check on him and he'll peek out of his pouch at me. Thanks for the replies guys!
