I was wondering why my SG will run and play and have the time of his life when we go into the little room, but when we go into my living room he runs up the curtains and sits there for hours and never plays. Is that normal?

He may just be over whelmed. Mine prefer smaller spaces also -- When we let them out in the living room, they head for the small dining room, or little front bedroom

I agree. He is probably trying to figure out what all the space is about. If you want him to play in the large room, just start letting him in there for a few minutes at a time BEFORE you take him to the smaller room. This way, he will not be so overwhelmed by the space. You also might try getting him to glide to you when he is on top of the curtains. Just keep encouraging him to come to you. Pretty soon he will get the idea and be just another gliding fool.
