Hi all! I don't have any sugar gliders, and in fact, I didn't even know what they were until I found this site! (Someone on another board posted that they had five "sugar gliders", so I did a search, and now I'm here!) They look and sound like the most adorable creatures. I have two cats, so I'm not planning on acquiring any gliders, and I'm definitely interested in learning about them! How do cats & gliders get along, by the way -- do any of you have cats & gliders together? (I'm sure many cats would think the gliders are food for them.) Thanks for such a great site -- I love the photos section especially, and I'll be checking the gossip section periodically as well to learn more!

Well, my cat Frisky, is absolutely scared to death of my gliders. Wont come within 3 foot of their cage even... She probably wonders how such a little critter can make such a Dog-awful racket though! All the better, I say.

I put a shelf like thing above my gliders cage. (not exactly a shelf hard to explain.) anyways,my cats (at first loved to get on the shelf thing and check out the gliders at night when they where out running around, although now they kind of ignore them like they do the guinea pigs. I hope I never have mice in my house my cats won't do a darn thing i bet!! I never let my gliders run free with my cats in the room though. Oh, and my rotts, love the gliders too:)

I do have three cats, all declawed but all want my gliders for lunch! I take many precautions to prevent tragedy, but if something did happen I would have only myself to blame. I do have a funny story about a friend of mine's glider... her cage was right down on the floor in her living room. She had a huge white cat that loved to torment the gliders. One day the cat got a little too close for her male glider and he reached out and grabbed the cats whiskers with both hands and jerked the cats face against the side of the cage! Kitty never messed with them again! Unfortunately, most stories of kitties vs. gliders don't have a happy ending.
