I JUST GOT MY SUGARGLIDER ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. HE IS ABOUT 9 WEEKS OLD NOW. I FEED HIM AT 10PM EVERY NIGHT, BUT THEN HE GOES BACK TO BED? IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIM? I DID CATCH HIM GLIDING OFF THE TOP OF HIS CAGE AROUND 6:30 AM, BUT I DO THINK HE SLEEPS MOST OF THE TIME?

Well he is still a babu so babies get up really late (after midnight sometimes) and don't play a lot. They mostly eat and sleep a bunch. What diet are you feeding? The diet will help a lot with energy. Also how bright is the room when you try to play? A lot of gliders do not like light and will not come out if any lights are on. Now you saw him gliding off the cage....does that mean you are leaving him unsupervised out of the cage at night?? Gliders should never be left unsupervised. If you are not in the room they need to be in the cage.

I couldn't agree more about gliders being left unsupervised outside the cage ... especially a baby of 9 weeks. One so young having not bonded completely with you yet could really get into alot of trouble. Mary/Beck is right. Baby gliders do sleep more than we expect them to. Just keep him with you in a shirt pocket or bonding pouch. This will make bonding much easier since he is so young. Good luck.
