Do you think It is something I am feeding him? I give him LeadBeaters with avocado and some brocoli and 2 meal worms each night. Sometimes I will put a carrot in, or yogurt, apple ect. Please post Courtney

Skyler, My gliders are the same way and I feed them the 75%/25% diet. The feces should be like that and as a matter of fact, humans are supposed to have it like that as well. I am not trying to be gross,it is only what I learned in an advanced anatomy and physiology course. The texture of the feces allows it to create less stress on the intestines as it is excreted. To back this up, think how it feels to be constipated or have diarrhea. It is just something I deal with, as far as picking up after them when I have them out. Good luck!

You really need to be feeding a better variety of fruits and vegetables. Avacados are high in fat and should be used as an occasional treat. My gliders really don't like broccoli. I give my gliders 1 teaspoon of leadbeaters per glider plus 2 tablespoons of fruits or veges. Vege night: corn, peas, carrots, lima beans, green grapes, apple, pear. Fruit night: red grapes, cantelope, honeydew, papaya, mango, pineapple. I vary the fruits and veges so they don't get bored. And then they get mealworms or crickets on alternating nights also.

I do feed skyler a varitey if fruits. I said,"I give him LeadBeaters with avocado and some brocoli and 2 meal worms each night. Sometimes I will put a carrot in, or yogurt, apple ECT." I will give him green grapes, apples (green and red) celery, ECT. Sometimes I will give him some boiled chicken. But I only give him small amounts of avocado, and I give it to him because it is his Favorite food. And Rachel- I was not really asking much about the diet, but do you know about the poop question? Thanx ---------------------- Courtney(me)& skyler my crazzzy glider!

That is exactly what I was saying. Poop is the way it is due to the diet. If the diet isn't right, the poop won't be right.

I have rescued 3 pairs of gliders in the past 4 months and each pair was on a diet that wasn't good enough for their needs. Their poop was mushy and a funky color. After a week of proper nutrition, the poop was looking the way it should.
