If what youre saying is true and you don't have compulsive asthma, then go and get one. Besides, gliders don't shed that much (like one hair per week) and you don't come in contact with them unless you kiss it and breathe it in. but if you're the kind that has an allergic reaction to touching fur, then I wouldn't recommend it.

I am allegic to cats too. If I have cuts on my hands and I bathe a cat I break out in hives. GLiders don't bother me at all. They don't shed and I don't think they have dander like cats do.

I have really bad asthma. I end up in the hospital very often. Last 3 months it has been once a month that i have been in the hospital with it. I am highly allergic to cats. However, the sugar gliders have not affected me. I am highly allergic to every thing, very possibly this whole earth LOL. But i am not allergic to my sugar gliders and have not had any problems with them. I hope that this gives you hope. I do have to add though that every person is differant, so what may be ok with me, may not be ok with you. I am just telling you what my experiance has been. One of the triggers of asthma is exhastion so if yer up too late with the gliders and not getting any sleep in the day.. that is what may cause you trouble. But, i seriously doubt that is an issue ! Good luck with your gliders, they are wonderful animals. I cant have cats or dogs and really wanted an animal to love, and sugars are wonderful.

Jenny, sugar gliders are a huge responsibility, you have to keep a good diet, give them lots of attention and work as well as your love. You have to be able to run to the vet at all hours of the night or day. And be able to afford all of these things. They are also alot of fun. They CAN BE very bonded to you and very loving and affectionate to you. Good luck and happy gliding !
