Ok I haven't been posting a lot so Here's the situation. Toby and Sarah have been great from day one. Both seemed to have an instant bond to us. They were a little nervous as expected, but beleave it or not I have never been bit the whole time we've had them! (knocking on wood) They have "always" gotten along. I kept them seporated when we first introduced the two, and they cried for each other and reached for each other through the bars. They are about 3 weeks apart, and as it would seem, both have recently become sexually mature. The problem is Toby has been "really" nasty to Sarah just within the last couple of weeks. I mean they have tiffed I think because for a while he was "ready" and she wasn't. But I mean he won't let her get anywhere neer him unless they are sleeping or sometimes eating. I've put two seporate bowls in there just incase that was what they were fighting over. He lunges at her and snaps, and bites. Now he's never been mean before, and he gets ahold of her sometimes and "bulldog" bites! I've been watching Sarah really closely for the past week, because she looks pudgy to me. She doesn't have any babies in pouch, but she's very docile, and wants to lay on her back alot. Also, she use to be a little touchy about having her belly touched, and now she lets me pet her belly all the time. Like she wants me to. If she's pregers could this be the reason he's being mean? Should I seporate them for a little while? (I'd really hate to do that) If for some reason she can't get pregnant, could this be a reason for him to be mean to her also? Sorry this has become a novel. LOL Thanks all. Jessica Toby and Sarah

jessica, it is very possible that she may be preggers just not birthed the joeys yet. a lot of things are possible, now, as for separating them, i would say not at this time, when they mate he does bite her to hold her, but also unless you see he really is HURTING her i mean blood or her trying to rip away , then don't worry, again as long as she is eating as well as him no worry, they are still establishing their dominance between them (who is the boss), how old are they now? they may be just going through their teens...

They are about 7 months now. He's not making her blead or anything so I guess I'm worrying a little too much. He's just been so vicious tward her. He's not like that with us though. Even when he's in the middle of lashing out at her I can reach in and pick him up no prob. So, I guess it's just a waiting game from here. I'll keep you posted on how they are doing. Thanks so much for the help. I really appreciate it. Jessica Toby and Sarah
