I have been looking foreward to bringing home a glider for months. My dilemma is that I have the choice of either a male or female glider and I'm not sure which to pick! This is my first glider, so I have no experience with either sex. Could anyone tell me what they know about the the temperment of males and females... Do females tend to bond as easily as males?? Thanks for any info that anyone has to share!

as far as personality goes..there isnt a significant differance between maless and females..but females dont smell as strong as males do (less scent glands) if you can usually it is best to get two gliders..they are very social animals and usualy do better in pairs ( they can even get depressed and lonely if kept all by themselves)

If this is your first glider I really recommend a male rather then a female. A male usually bonds better with there owner (my opinion). I got my first glider in june. My glider is a male and we are very bonded to eachother. But Before you choose your male or female glider, judge the glider for its personality and not its gender. Hope I helped! -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Courtney(me) & Skyler my crazzzy Glider!

I got a female first and we are more bonded than my male is. He bites alot. Ive heard that females bond easier, but there is no proof beyond this. NO matter what sex you get, an un neutered male will "mark" his territory and challenge other males if there is a female around. Of course, they are animals =) If you are planning on getting just one glider it will make no differences as long as you get a young glider and spend lots of time with him or her, and it is not necessary to get more than one glider unless you dont have a lot of time to spend with them.

Well with the three gliders I have had..and the ones I have played with that aren't mine...I actaully like the females better...but all gliders are different and hvae different personalities. No matter what sex you get you will love them. They are all special creatures and I love them all. If you are worried about smell males do smell but getting the male neutered will help that a lot. I suggest you go spend time with the male and female and decide which one was made for you. You should feel a special bond with the glider thats right for you.

I got a female first, and we bonded right away. A few months later, I got a male, but we never really bonded that well. I think deciding whether to get a male or a female, it is all about personality, every glider is different. Good luck Shannon

Hi Erin ... I have 2 gliders (male and female) I got my male first from an individual and he was and is a love ... I got my female from a breeder 3 months later and she was not so nice ... It took me a long time to bond with her ... But now it is great with both of them ... When I feed them at night they always set and wait for me to scratch their heads before they will eat I think it just depends on the breeder you get them from and if the breeder spent any time with them. I wish you luck on which ever you decide to get.

All gliders have different personalities, but females don't stink like males, but males are just as sweet. I have a little boy and his musk doesn't smell 1 bit except when he pee's in his bed,but thats okay with me,from all the info people have given you,you pick im sure whatever you pick will be just as wonderful as the other sex

Handle the gliders and see which one seems friendlier. Even gliders have a preference for certain people.....I always say that the sex really doe not matter. The important thing is to get the one that you like best and vice versa. (I always recommend this for any pet purchase: I always will pick the one with the best compatible personality, that looks healthy and lively too.)
