I bought some RepCal last night for my gliders. Am I supposed to mix it in some sort of concoction or can I just sprinkle it on their fruit? Is this OK to use? I just heard that it was good for them. Last night I just sprinkled about an 1/8 of a teaspoon on their fruit and mixed it around. Just wondering if anyone else uses it. All responses appreciated.

Jill,
If you are using Bourbons Leadbeaters then you would need to mix it in with the miture.
Yes sprinkling it on the fruit is ok as well.
However, may I ask what all you are feeding your gliders?

Yes I feed them a frozen mix that I got from the breeder that is like leadbeaters (it has fruit and veggies, apple juice, honey wheat germ, mixed grains baby cereal and two raw eggs all blended) I feed them apples (they love) cantelope, grapes, pears, and peaches. I will also sometimes feed them Gerber baby food, like their chicken sticks for protein (only the very end of one like a 1/4 of a stick) and the hawaiin delight which they love. Also applesauce they go balistic over that frozen stuff and applesauce. Is this all Ok?

I'm not sure about the raw eggs, I always hard boil or scrmble mine with the shell and you may need to consider more protien, but there are others who will be able to respond and give you more advice about that.

Raw eggs or any other meat can lead to salmonella. I would not use ANY raw meat.

I don't feed them any raw meat. The eggs I will start hard boiling them then putting them in the blender to make the mix. Why would anyone feed their glider raw meat?

I am not sure about this diet. Does your breeder not use repcal? How long have they used this recipe? Do you know ab=nything about the reaserch for it?

It would be a good idea to find a diet balanced for gliders. If it is balanced for gliders then it should have enough calcium in it.
