I have heard that cotton is bad for gliders. IF it's true, I'm curious. Why?

I've never heard that cotton is bad for gliders. Some people use cotton balls for playtime toys and most people only use cotton rope for toys and perches. If cotton was bad for gliders then what type of shirts would we have to wear?

Yeah I know. I was only wondering because I was chatting to some people. I said, "If your going to use a nesting box, you should put some bedding in it like cotton balls." Another person said, "No, don't use that. It's bad for gliders." Or at least that was the gist. Maybe they were talking about the nesting box idea or something?
