Hi Again all! Question, i know that we are all still learning about sugargliders. they are somewhat still new to these parts of the world, but i have a question. i realize crickets and meal worms, etc. are needed. but my vet suggested, that if i fed her boiled chicken instead, that would be more than enough protien. he also suggested eggs. now i know everyone is more than likely going to say crickets, but will chicken be an even suppliment??? thanx

i'm not sure about even suppliment as there are different ammounts of vitamins in crickets than chicken...one thing to be aware of is that crickets have calcium in their exoskelleton whereas boiled chicken has no calcium in it. i personally feed my glidrers both chicken and crickets...if you are bothered by having to deal with the live ones..did you know that you can buy freeze dried crickets and mealworms? that may make it easier.

They are really not the same. Gliders need both chicken and insects in their diet. Its not really on or the other.
Whats really importaint is their diet as a whole. Not just one part of it. Do you have your gliders on a good diet plan?
