i am still in high school so as you can imagine i do have homework, and i like to be in bed by 10 or 10:30 if possible. i am getting my little glider boy on sunday, and i was wondering if he is not up by 9:00 or somewhere around there should i start waking him so he will be used to getting up at that time and be able to alter his sleeping times?

If you have to be in bed by 10 or 10:30, I suggest that you rethink getting a glider. They require a lot of your time, at least 2-3 hours per night.

You need to find out what time the glider normally gets up from the breeder. It will probably be after midnight and he will not be happy if you wake him up a lot earlier than that. A major change in scheadule can be very stressful for them...so if you want to change their scheadule you have to do it slowly. For instance you can wake them up 10 minutes early each night, but several hrs will be stressful.
Also you should bot try changing the scheadule too much until you are somewhat bonded and the glider trusts you...otherwise this could upset the bonding process.

Thanks, i think i will stick with Mary/Beck's opinion on the matter because i know i would rather stay up a little later than not get one at all, both your guy's help is aprreciated

well I agrree with Dawn...I must have posted at the same time...first you need to ask the breeder what tiem the baby normally wakes up most babies dont wake up before midnight...some even later. So if yours wakes up at 12 you wont be going to bed until 2 am. So even if yoou do change the gliders shceadul to get up earlier for several moths you will be going to bed pretty late..they don't change scheadules very easily. It takes a lot of time and patience.

my gliders will get up at around nine...sometimes evan at eight..if i turn the light off on their room...you could try that also..not waking them..just turning the light off and see how long it takes them to get up.
