How much does it cost to keep a sugar glider as a pet, I mean, the cage, toys, good, SUGAR GLIDER, and other expenses. How much will the total cost? How much did you pay for the sugar glider, cage, dishes, pouches, and other exoenses?

Well I happened to get a pretty good deal-

I got my glider, cage, pouch, and food dish for $150 dollars. However, it is more likely that you get a glider without anything else for 150-200 dollars. The cage can be pretty cheap if you make it, but I once went to a pet store and they had cages for much more -200. The food dishes and pouches usually don't cost much.

The food cost: It depends on what diet you use. <a href=http://www.angelfire.com/nb/sugarglider/diet/leadbeat.html>http://www.angelfire.com/nb/sugarglider/diet/leadbeat.html</a> has a link to a commonly used one and you can go to different stores in your area to see what the full price is.

Toys: Most bird toys are good (head to the pet store.) Stay away from chains. They also enjoy toliet paper tubes, ladders, and ropes. For outside play time peacock feathers are ok, but they shouldn't be left in the cage. There is some controversy over string cause they could get tangled in them but if you use them only as an outside the cage toy, that would probably be ok (if you want to take the chance.)

The vet factor: Gliders can get injured or sick and even though there are preventive measures you should always have a vet and money on hand to cover vet bills.

Hope this helps.

When you watch them jump across back and forth on the cage, having ramps and things like that don't give them enough room unless you have a huge cage. You probably would need one shelf for food and it should be up high.
