I was reading a previous posting about a glider getting its arm stuck in a bird house. It reminded me of a
problem I had experienced, that some may benefit from hearing. A few months ago I got a Year and a
half old male glider named LeRoy. The gentleman I got him from was moving and couldn't take him
with. He also gave me a knit ski cap that LeRoy slept in. Well one night I noticed that he had not eaten
his food...very weird! Anyhow when I opened the cap he slept in I saw this huge bulge by his leg.
Upon futher investigation, it turn out to be his testicals!!! He had some how managed to get a loop of
yarn wrap very tightly around them. I tried to untwist the yarn, but that wasn't working so I got out the
scissors and carefully cut the yarn off of him...he was even nice enough not to bite me! After the yarn
was off they did shrink down in size a little but they were still distended. I ended up getting him
neutered that week before he tried it again on his own. Moral of the story: check all toys and sleeping
pouches for loose threads or loops of yarn.

Thanks for the info. Did you have any problems with getting Le Roy neutered at the age he is? My
glider is 1-1/2 years old now, and I'd really like to get him neutered so that I can get him a girlfriend.
Thanks, Cheri and Gizmo (aka: saber toothed glider)
