Hi, well resently I posted a message about feeding my glider bugs. Today, just about a half an hour ago I got mealies at the store. I put skyler(my glider) in a tub and put mealie in. There was a lot of sniffing and touching by skyler. Then when the mealie moved skyler grabbed it in one hand and started to munch away I was trying to look if he had really grabbed it by lifting him. I thought he was going to drop it but as i looked at the bottom of the tub for the mealie to drop i noticed that it didnt fall. I looked up and him and the mealie was squrming in is mouth. It was disscusting and cute at the same time! He ate the first one in about a 30 sec. and then I offered him another mealie. I think he ate that one a little faster than the other!!! I am really glad I gave him bugs. Its so inertaning to watch!

When I give my gliders mealies they get so excited they bite my hands b/c they smell like mealworms. They'll finish a meal worm and then CHOMP! on my finger looking for another! The other day I put Sugar Ray and Taylor( my oldest pair) in the tub with a couple of live crickets. All they wanted to do was climb back on me. Taylor would jump on my arm and I would put him back in the tub and then Sugar Ray would jump on my arm. I finally gave up and threw the crickets in my lizard tank(where they would be appreciated). I guess they forgot what live crickets are, since I have been giving them freeze dried or frozen for so long.

Skyler,
It isn't necessary to put your glider in the tub with mealies. As long as there is any lip at all on the dish you put them in, they cannot crawl away. They usually don't last that long anyway wink
Crickets are another matter. You can put them in a tub so they won't jump away or you can hand feed one at a time, which is what I do smile
Also, I feed 4-6 mealies (large ones) per glider. I have never found leftover mealies raspberry
