I was just wondering if it affected the parents in anyway, when we take their joeys away from them. I take the joeys out everyday for about an hour to play with them and the parents never mind. I came home for lunch today and decided to take the joeys back to work with me. They did really good in their bonding pouch. I got home at around 7:00 and there was the mama(Norma) looking all over the cage, like she was searching for her babies. She is never up that early, the earliest they get up is 9:00, I never had them apart that long and the minute I put them in the cage her and The dad(Norman) came running to them making those chattering sounds that they make when they are happy. Will they not trust me anymore when it's time to give the babies away. Are they going to hate me.

I have never actually taken the babies away from the parents where they did not know they were nearby.
You did not mention how old the joeys are which would possibly make a big difference. Taking them to work means that when they returned they were filled with new smells that the parents are not familar with. They probably gave them a good cleaning smile
If it were me, I would not take them "away" from the parents until they are at least 8 weeks oop.
At that point they should be ready to go to their new homes or out into the world should you decidee to keep them.
Hope this helps.

The mom was probably worried because you have never taken the babu our for more than an hr at a time. Try taking them out a little longer each day. The parents won't hate you...but you don't wnat them worrying about the babies.

I guess what I meant was, when I do give the babies away, and that don't get them back again, Will they stop trusting because I gave their babies away. When they have babies again, will they still let me handle them or will they be afraid I'm going to take their babies away again?

In the wild the parents will kick the baby out of the colony once they are old enough. Then the baby must find a new colony. It may take your gliders a few days but they will get over it. Its natural for them. It will be harder on the baby than it will be them.
