We have 3 bassit hounds and 3 ferits, we just got our glider,formerly belonged to a friend,can they all be 1 happy family?

Gliders do not get along with any other animals. They are very territorual. I have seen first hand that ferrets and gliders together cna be very dangerous. Please read the realstories page dogs and ferrets have killed gliders.
Please don't let your glider out around other animals...its too risky.

Dogs usually do not get along with gliders. ESPECIALLY hunting dogs. Your basset hounds would love to hunt your glider. Please be very careful to keep your dogs in a separate room during playtime.

I think if you consider the size of a dog, even a small dog, and the size of a glider, you would be smart enough to not even attempt to let a loose dog and loose glider in the same room, (common sense.. my opinion of course  ) anyways, I have three dogs 2 rotts and a lab/rott mix. In the same household they do just fine, but when the gliders come out to play they go in one room and the dogs are already asleep in another room. (all doors shut of course)

let me tell u what happened when i was stupid enough to try and let my glider get introduced to my dog. this is a story i posted on another board....please please watch u're gliders around other household pets.....introductions to fi fi the family dog are not a good idea. these little guys just have no fear of something ten times their size. we have an astralian sheppard and thought it would be a great idea to see what she thought of my new glider. well i never thought what would my new glider would think of the dog. he ran down my arm, tail high in the air. he did the cute litle cat ready to pouce thang, and next thang i know, he's jumped of my arm, started crabbing in midflight and tore into the dogs nose.... she ran for the doggie door shaking her head, and thankfully he came off before she made it outside. for those of u who want to know if they get along with other animals....... NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO have u ever seen what a cat bite does? infected instantly.. ever seen a glider eat a hampster? (well me nither but i think i do remember reading about one eating a lovebird) and i do remember reading these little gliders have an adreniline gland larger than most animals their size, so they can ujust about poison themselves on adreniline.

Oh yeah! I tried to introduce Sugar Ray to my Bichon. Sugar Ray start screeching and jumped onto Scottie's face! Scottie is now terrified of the gliders. If it had been my Lab...Sugar Ray would be in Heaven.

hi..i have yorkshire terriors and two gliders...i have had my gliders out with the yorkshirers and the glider has jumped on them...no fear at all...but i wouldn't trust them without my being right there...i don't let them get too close...they are still a lot bigger than the glider...the glider has thrown bones to them...lol
