What are the signs that these joeys are about to come out and visit us? My female is acting differant today, she is awake which is strange, and she seems to be looking for something in her cage, she is real restless. I thought maybe she wanted more to eat since they didnt seem to eat their dinner. So i gave them some grapes and corn at the top of their nest (2 things i know they love) and of course she keeps popping her head out and eating these things. She just isnt her self. Last night when she was out of her cage she just wanted to kind of sulk, or lay about. Are these possibly signs that she is ready for them to come out? Or a sign of something else?

First it is normal for gliders to get up and eat now and then during the day.

Now how old is she, how old is the male, how long have they been together?

A female that is pregnant will have two shady looking pea or peanut sized lumps in her pouch.

The Joey's will not come OOP until you see body parts sticking out.

Breeding normally can be seen or recognized if the males genitalia, or as some call intestines are hanging out. Many times you will see them in the pouch often making lil squeaks, clicks, or chirps of love.

There is a great link for Joey's etc found here:

I do hope this helped a lil and if you answer the questions I may be able to help a lil more.

Good Luck smile

Ok great, thanks for that site! That was neat, i learned alot about joeys! I dont know exactly how long they have been in pouch though. When we bought them a week ago he said they had about a week till oop. So.... I do know that i have not seen any body parts sticking out, but they dont sit on us upside down or even sit still long enough for us to really get a peek at the pouch. I do know that the babys ARE VERY BIG IN THERE! She looks like shes got two watermellons in there, and isnt acting herself today and yesterday. They dont usually stay awake so long in the day as they did today and she seems to be sulking in a way.

Right before the babys come out you will see most of their bodys hanging out...its very obvious and you can't miss it if you play with them at all. If you haven't seen any body parts at all then you still have some time I believe most people say about a week after you see the parts hanging out.

If the female has been preganant for a while then you should be able to tell. The person you got her from said she was due ina week and Ibelieve you got them several days ago. You should deffinitly be seeing body parts if she has been pregant for as long as the rbeeder though. Does it look like she has a peanut in her pouch? At this point if there are no body parts then you should at least see a large peanut.

I am not trying to scare you at all..I am just wondering is she is reallt pregnant. It just doesn't make much sense. Is it possible the breeder made a mistake and she wasn't pregnant..or maybe you misunderstood how long it would be and she isn't very far along? Could the stress of moving to a new home caused her to loose the baby?

Try to gte a good look at her pouch durring playtime tonight.

Oh yes.. we are VERY positive there are two in her pouch!!! There are TWO large peanuts in her pouch! And the night we got them (a week and a day ago) the guy said that her pouch had been recently opened, and that meant they may even be coming out at night or parts of babys had come out. She still has her babys in her pouch, we see the peanuts, Both of them, and they are so big! Even bigger now then when we first got them a week ago! He said he was guessing as to when they would be OOP, but that his guess is usually accurate.
