I put it out at 11pm-12am. This way it is out right around when they are waking up. And then it starts thawing. It is usually gone after an hour.

It all depends, I told you I have one that likes it with that film on it, we leave ours in till the morning then remove it, it is finit thaws in the bowl, the problems come in when someone leaves the whole container out, then refreezes it, or when it isn't removed in the morn.. You are doing fine, how is the little one doing by the way?

i have taken the leadbeaters ( the whole container) and left it out overnight on accident, by morning it was pretty much thawed out, I threw it away I didn't want to take any chances. But,would it have been okay, Also, once I took it out of the freezer and absent mindedly (the usual me) put it back in the fridge instead of the freezer, would it be bad to still feed it to them, I did and this was several batches of leadbeaters ago, but if it was not a wise thing to feed it to them, I won't next time my absent mind does that raspberry

It is not good to refreeze anything that has time to thaw out. I know its a pain to make a new batch...but it is much safer to do so then let them have after it has tottally thawed out like that.

As for the times I put mine out as soon as peep wakes up and take it out in the morning the second I get up.
