my friends son's glider wasn't moving monday morning so they called me at work for advice. i said get it to a vet!!! after fighting with each other over who was going to pay for it and what an inconvinience it was they finally got it to the vet where it died 3 hours later. vet said the glider came in cold and dehydrated. he placed in on warming pad and gave it an I.V with sugar water. my friend said the room glider was kept in didn't have a heat vent to it and the door was kept shut. she didn't even go to get the baby's body. she let vet take care of it. i didn't suggest necropsy cos she was already upset about cost and i felt the poor little guy had been through enough. he had belonged to a school before my friend got it and hasn't had much attention since then either. (they claim otherwise but i sense different!! i had to sit for it several weeks in a row while they vacationed, i wish i could have fit it into my little gang!!!!!!) frown
i think it died of loneliness and neglect along with cold, the doctor said it could have had an infection, i;m bringing my babies to him monday for a well baby check up. i just found him, he's not far from my house, and i'm so excited, he seems good so i'll post him here after i see him so people in fort worth will have a place to go.

Aww I'm so sorry!! It's so hard to give them enough attention. I let my glider sleep on me a few hours a day if I'm home then either play for 1 or 2 hours a night depending on how much time she spent sleeping in my bra. I only have one glider, so does anyone know if this is enough attention?

If you can afford it, another sugar glider would make the one you have more social and more happy and would always have someone to keep it company

honnebe, if they could have afforded a vet visit that glider may have lived fine. Where attention is concerned it is the ultimate responsibility of the owner, even if there is 2. 2 gliders also need the interaction and playtime as well. I believe that if you are going to neglect one, why get another and neglect 2. and then having to find new homes, for 1 it is much easier than 2
