I like to take my gliders to work with me, I have a back pack like pouch for them that is made of fleece, with gromets on the sides for air and with a screen like place on the front top so they can see and for air, I worry about taking them in and out of the cold weather since it is winter time and the weather where i live, Illinois, can get pretty cold, should i not take my gliders out of the house. Also, I work at a school, lots of germs in a school, but i guess that there are lots of germs everywhere, do I need to worry about them getting sick???? Thanks, chrissy

What I do is I have a very warm pouch for them that I put under MY coat or fleece pullover. This way they stay cozy under all those layers. THen when I get inside I take off my coat and they still have the pouch to curl up in. If it gets under 40 degrees I don't take them out unless I am going outside only to go to the car to go straight inside somewhere else.

i keep mine in a warm fleece pouch, under my leather jacket..this seems to work well to keep in the warmth

I do not take mine out in the cold because they can be prone to get respiratory disease/infection, especially pneumonia. Most times, like you and me, they should not get sick if they are healthy and active. But stranger things do happen and that is why I don't take themout. Kind of like preventive maintenance. However, if you do, kee them warm at all times.

there are pluses and minuses for each choice...the chance of them getting cold vs the ability to keep them with you and bond..i agree the most important thing is just to be aware of their needs (ie keeping warm) and to try and do what you think is right for you and your gliders
