Beetles get put into a fresh drawer after they pupate. I have water in the drawer to raise up the humidity which increases egg production.	Adult mealworms from my first round of beetles. I just moved the beetles to a fresh drawer once the offspring got too large.	A simple 3-drawer Sterilite container from Walmart holds my mealworm farm. I did not need to drill any vent holes or modify in any way.
Light makes them scramble.	You can see the recently shed chitin exoskeletons from the tiny worms dangling under the carton.	Beetles lay eggs and hatch wormies.
This is my breeding drawer with water pillows to keep the humidity high and lots of egg laying space.	Beetles like it dark and humid. Egg cartons make a great place for egg laying.	Cut the top out or completely off of a paper egg carton and lay it upside down for the beetles to lay eggs under. Make sure the tiny hatched worms can fall out to the bedding and not get stuck.
This is the feeder drawer which houses only mealies. Sooner or later they will begin to pupate at which point you start looking for pupae and removing them.	This is my new three drawer farm. I hope to maintain three different life cycles, essentially always keeping a drawer of beetles.	Beetles mate and then lay eggs underneath the egg crate. In this photo there is a zillion tiny mealies already crawling around under the surface. Keep in mind that they are VERY thirsty...
yeah, they really do exist...	Freeze dried and flavored
Superworms. Nasty things...	Updated drawer.	Beetles congregate on top of the egg crate to mate.
