Hello! So I just got my first trio of sugar gliders on Tuesday. I have them scheduled for a vet appointment and have been sitting by the cage talking to them, giving them their food etc. They don’t seem to be to scared of me, though still a bit skittish. So allowing them to settle a bit before we start bonding. My question is though. When it comes to bonding. Should I put all 3 in the bonding pouch? Or just 1 at a time? Also, I keep seeing differing things on how long they can stay in the pouch. Most things say all day, however there are other things that say “all day if you give them a piece of apple”. What is best? Also, last night about 2:30am I heard my female crabbing consistently as well as my youngest male barking. Normally she only does it if I look in the pouch or crinkle a bag (haha) I came down to check and my neutered male (I have 1 female and 2 neutered males) was on top of her and not letting her go. She was fighting him and they were rolling all over the place, every time she tried to get on the side of the cage, he pulled her down. (I am checking her for injury this morning) is this normal? Most of what I read says it is? However, most seem to be in relation to sexually mature males and female. Where I don’t think mine are yet? I am not sure, I know they are young. Sorry this was so long, new owner and even though I spent almost 2 years reading and watching videos I knew their would be things I wouldn’t know to even ask until they were here! Thank you so much <3 |
