: : : : : Which are better to feed a Sugar Glider? How many per day per glider would be recommended?
: : : : I believe that mealworms are the best. If I remember correctly waxworms are very high it fat. Mealies are high in fat too but given in moderation should be ok. I could be wrong and if I am please correct me.

: : : I go with Can O crickets!! mine like to kill bugs but they wont eat worms they will just kill them and drop them in the bottom of the cage.. so i feed freeze dried crickets.. theyre very nutritious!!
: : : ALso if you get gutloaded crickets those are good source of calcium!!
: : Hi Cindynzia
: : Have you tried covering the worms with a licky treat. Kessie is 10wks oop and I covered her mealie with her favorite licky treat and slurp went the worm no more mealie he he it was gross and then she wanted to share yuck!

: Hehe thats sick!! Is there anything the mealies provide that the crickets wont? I can handle crickets but mealies eww.. i dont think i could handle dousing it in babyfood or anything.. i dont like to touch them let alone play with them hehehe..
I don't actually touch the mealie I use a tweezer I am not real big on touching bugs. I think it is important just because it is a bug and it is part of their diet. But I do know that some don't feed their gliders mealies so I don't believe it would hurt them to not get mealies. But here is another thought maybe get a cup where the mealies can't get out of but your glider can get into and out of and use a spoon to put babyfood on it and maybe your glider will do all the touching of the mealie and you won't have to. Trust me I love Kessie very much but I can't touch the bugs my husband laughs at me all the time when it is bug eating time and he laughs even harder when Kessie tries to share. He He.
