Subject: Questions about breeding

Hi all!
My original pair of gliders started bickering this morning in their nest box. It started out pretty minor, and progressed into full fledged fighting by supper time. I realized then that Benny wants to breed and Babs doesn't. She is fighting him tooth and nail the whole way. I've separated them, for fear that she will get hurt by his advances - they've gotten along so well til now.
Babs is the one that was so sick when I got her back in September, and she has had this scab on her head since then. I've had the vet check it out and he said he'd have to put her under to really see whats going on - we elected not to go that route because the scab was slowly getting better and we figured it might just heal on its own if given enough time. Well, it hasn't and today, I figured out why its there - Benny is holding on to her head with his teeth when he's "in the mood" and I suppose it hurts and thats why she's fighting him off.
Now that Benny is alone, he barks all the time and I don't know what to do for him - any suggestions? Should I get the vet to remove this scab so it will heal and maybe they can live together again? Or should I just leave them separated until she gets better. Is there anything I can do to make Benny feel better? Is there anything I can do to make him stop being so nasty with Babs? I've had alot of gliders, but none of them ever bred - and this certainly wasn't what I anticipated!
