Subject: Gliders as pets

I have studied sugar gliders as pets and I have found two
very local sugar glider breeders (in a city of 100,000!!)
who hand tame the gliders as babies but one thing I really
haven't found is what type of pets gliders are.
I know that they are nocturnal (no prob I stay up until 3:30am anyways),
that they live a 15 years (great, I'm sick of my pet rats dying
after 2 years), and that they require alot of human interaction
if they are not housed in pairs (I'd prefer a pair but I don't
mind interacting with my pets for 2 or 3 hours a day) but
what I haven't found out is what type of pets they really are.
What are sugar gliders like as pets? How tame do they get?
What are the good and bad points of sugar gliders? How do
they interact with their owners? Etc.
