I can't agree with some people on this. I to have 3 teacup poodles and they are very wathful of my gliders. They are very protective over them too. I do however watch my dogs closely while my gliders are out playing just in case something was to go wrong. I personally trust my dogs though since they have helped me foster mother many animals including small kittens, babyferrets, and gerbils. I also have to add that it took time for the gliders to get used to them peeking at them and used to the smell of the dogs but they didn't go spastic they just crabbed and would hit and peek in and over my hand. I eventually though caught my gliders riding on one of the dogs back and started limiting the time that the dogs were around them. I would not recommend though that everybody try this because it can be fatal top a glider if your dog is aggressive and does not like small animals. Also Cynthia on here has gliders in North Carolina and you might want to contact her. If you guys want to blast me go ahead and do it but I know my dogs and you don't so therfore I know how they react and I want to say all animals are different. This is just my opinion on it. I will say that when I introduced everybody my words to them are be little and they just kiss them your dogs may be different so if you do decide to do this be careful!
: Hi. I'm contemplating purchasing a sugar glider. I live in Columbia, SC and can't seem to find any breeders here locally. Can anyone tell me if they've ordered over the internet, and if so, can you suggest a reputable dealer? I am also concerned about my dog, Shelby. Shelby is a 4 year old teacup poodle (as you can see, I like small animals!) She weighs 2 lbs and is a real sweetie. I could use some advice on how to introduce my sugar glider to my dog. Any info would be most appreciated!
