One day i got up, put Baybe in my pocket and continue on with the day, I was wearing a pair of BDS, (army with lots of pockets) and my pocket tee with a denim shirt covering it, with no pouch attached. I went along the day working in the yard, cutting the grass on a rider, I had felt her come out and was trying to be aware of where she was, I was trimming trees, pulling weeds and trimming the grass edges, I went into the house, into each bedroom doing various things. back and forth from inside to outside. I stopped for lunch and went to feed Baybe. she was no where to be found, I was so panicky, and tried to think of where she might have gotten off at. I searched every room of the house, went out side and called her, but no where was she. I got that real hot feeling inside , like someone just stabbed me with a hot poker. I felt sick to my stomache. I knew she was gone and it was all my fault. My heart sunk I only had her about 6 months and I was convinced she would never leave me. I had my daughter continue to look for her in places where i would have never went, when all of a sudden, I felt something on pant leg, I looked it wasn't her, I didn't see anything as a matter of fact. so I brushed my leg thinking it may have been a spider or some other crawly from working in the yard. there and then is when i seen her. She poked her head up from the pocket on my leg. looking at me as if to say.."I am right here mommy".. That was my first lesson in being "glider aware". Now I make sure i have a pouch for her to climb into just in case she gets startled. I also make sure I am aware of every tiny movement she makes. When she moves, I pet her, she goes right back to sleep. This was a very horrid time for me, But i have to trust her, she trusts and bonded with me very tightly. It could have ended differently, but it taught me not to take her for granted either.
