I think a lot of us are new here. I have two adult SG's, I am working with everyday. I also gave mine treats alot from my hand so that they know I'm Ok. When I first got them before I ever put their food dish in I feed them fruits, (Grapes, they love them) then I left them alone and fed them.
About letting them out of the cage, I was really leary to. But I had a lot of great advise. I have let them both out once. I was really scared about geting them away. Since then I have only let out the male. 3x so far and each night has got easier. (Read Awesome night message)It quite exciting. I'll think your instincts will tell you when to move on.
I don't get bit anymore either. The hand with some time of food seems to work. I am leary of Juliet though, she's so fickle, I'm just sure she's going to nail me.
: Hello all,
: I finally got my SG to sleep in the pouch!! Now all I have to do is get his to stay there while I put it on!!!! He still is nasty.. but he won't bite unless I try to touch him or pick him up.. I'm still working on that!!! He is about 10 months old now and boy can he bite!!!!!!!! I've noticed he is very moody.. one day he's nice the next he's not. Maybe he is just going through adolecence???? I let him out once.. the second he jumped out when I opened the
door.. But I have a very hard time getting him back in the cage and now he breaks the skin when he bites. Should I let him run around or should I wait till I have him a little more tame????? He loves to be out BUT I don't love what he does to my skin.. He litterally takes chunks out of me.
: Another question I have is he loves to rub the scent gland on top of his head on my hair!!!! he will grab my hair through the bars and proceed to rub it all over my hair... Is he trying to mark me?? What is he doing??? Mind you my hair does not smell too good after he done with it!!!
: Well as you can all tell I'm new to gliders and always full of questions. Well thanks everyone..
