Talk about holding a grudge! Geez, even sugar gliders can be vindictive. I'll have to watch myself....
: : : Talk about special - YOU are a very special person yourself. My thanks to you for being such a caring human being - we need more like you.....
: : I second that.
: Aw, gee thanks, y'all make me blush.
: Here's another 'short' story about gliders.
: One of my original females, purchased almost 5 yrs ago, was
: very young when we got her. She was paired with a male and
: they are fine breeders now.
: When she had her first litter, I was so very proud of her
: and wanted to show her baby to a friend. I lifted her nest
: (a 6 inch clay flower pot with a round hole cut in it) to
: show off her baby, neglected to talk to them when I did and
: momma glider jumped and dropped her baby. I thought I had
: killed that baby!!! We secluded them and their cage and
: crept into the dark bldg. where we put them with a flashlight
: to feed and take care of them and left them pretty much
: alone to ensure that she wouldn't do something to the baby.
: That female raised her baby just fine, but to this day she
: hates me! I don't blame her!!
: She'll take peanuts or treats from any and everyone but me.
: If she has babies and I'm in her cage feeding or whatever,
: she comes at me like a Tasmanian devil. No way will she take
: a treat from me. She hasn't forgotten the dumb thing I did
: to her (I didn't let her know I was there and frightened her)
: and she certainly lets me know she doesn't like me, EVERY
: day. Even after that, she doesn't attack me, just yells, GET
: OUT you dumb human!! She has never bitten me either, even
: though I probably deserved it.
: Aren't they just incredible?
