Subject: Wood Cages?

I'm a bit confused! I thought that it was not a good idea to use wood when buildind a cage. I have been reading through the old archives and I thought that someone said that it absorbed the urine and was almost impossible to sanitize. I'm not trying to start anything here, my husband and I are going cage supply hunting this week so I am just finding out the facts before we do! Thanks!
