Twinklebelle,
I have found that biting can have different meanings, most of which are not aggressive. My girl Kira will bite me if she's slightly upset with me. If I have her with me and have to put her back into the cage in order to do something and then come back to her, she will come on my hand as soon as I open the cage door and she has to bite one of my fingers before she's satisfied. If she walks past my hand, she'll actually stop, back up, take a nibble and then continue going up my arm. It's sort of like revenge for her. She will also do the same thing if she feels like I'm paying too much time/attention with Oscar, my other glider.
They both will nibble my finger in order to indicate that they are hungry. One time I had nail polish on my fingernails and they both bit at my fingers continuously, so I took it off immediately. Hope that this helps you determine the meaning behind the nipping/biting.
